Ive always grown more corn here in Michigan . This year I took a chance and I'm planting 70 percent beans, usually we don't get the best soybean yields, any suggestions?

According to USDA crop report it's looking like we need grain bin expansion. We've used GSI in the past but we're looking to get some outside thoughts other brands?
Wheat vs. rye

For the past while, we've been doing a wheat cover crop to save some money. I'm thinking of switching to rye even though it will cost a bit more. Any body have any thoughts either way on this?

We haven't hit drought conditions quite yet but we're getting there. The temperatures are HOT! What I'm wondering is how do other growers handle potential drought conditions? We're trying to get ideas on different approaches, especially with corn.
Time to hire?
It felt like we needed more yes, but with that comes more cost. I think for us it was the type of year we had. I think with expanding it comes naturally we are gunna go another year with what we have. Everyone will have to work hard!
Case IH vs. New Holland
We've always been green, but however tried New Holland and they seem to require a lot more matience.
Looking to switch to Sorghum
We are seeing the switch in southern Michigan, seems to be working, found it best to work ground right before you plant to control weeds. Sorghum seems to handle a lot more stress.
